Today in class we reviewed our Ancient Egypt tests that we took last week. I got a 92 on the test and I'm really happy. I studied good for this test but I love Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece because it intrigues me so much. Since I have a interest in the subject, I don't have trouble remembering or learning about the subject. Today we were introduced into Ancient Greece and these are some the notes we took in class this morning:
-The world's greatest civilizations all located on water
-Mesopotamia/Tigris and Euphrates Rivers
-Egypt/Nile River
-China/Huang He River
*-Mediterranean Sea- means middle of the Earth*
-14,000 islands off 0f Greece
- Greece is a mountainous area
-They were really good at building ships
-Greece is a peninsula *(surrounded by three bodies of water)*
-The Adriatic Sea (west) and Aegean Sea (east) surround Greece
-Island of Crete is a large island south of Greece
*-Athens is the capital of Greece*
-They really lived by the whole idea of *city-states* (who you were loyal to) since they were all separated by mountains
-Athens was more inland and Sparta was more on the sea
-"The unexamined life is not worth living"
